About Mikaela

Mikaela grew up in Dimondale, Michigan with her parents, Patrick and Helen (Terry) Haley, and her sister, Mary Beth. Mikaela's mother was her Girl Scout leader for fifteen years, volunteered at numerous events for Holt Public Schools, and to this day works tirelessly on the community Easter Egg Hunt. Mikaela watched her acts of service with admiration, and now does her best to follow in her footsteps. It is her mother's volunteerism that has made Mikaela pursue public service. Mikaela grew up in a middle-class household with a strong work ethic. Her father worked at General Motors for over forty years and always made sure that their family was provided for. 

Mikaela has always been fond of Eaton County. She loves the Vermontville Maple Syrup Festival in April, the Gizzard Festival in Potterville in June, and now as a resident of Charlotte, Charlotte Celebrates in June & Frontier Days in September- among various other festivals throughout the year. Eaton County has a lot to offer despite not being the most talked about in the state. When Mikaela is not at local events, she enjoys walking the various trails in our beautiful county.

Always a Spartan, Mikaela graduated from James Madison College, Michigan State University in 2015, just under four years.  She worked throughout her schooling and pursued a dual major. She was a mentor in the James Madison mentor program, and she participated in a study abroad program. During her time at MSU, she became ill and discovered that she has Celiac Disease. She deals with this disease every day, but just like many Americans who have auto-immune diseases, she pushes through.

Mikaela has been married to Andrew Bliven for six wonderful years and they have two children together. In their free time they enjoy hiking, fishing, and camping in this great state.
